Customer Solutions Engineer - Big Network, Inc.

Big Network is seeking to hire our first Customer Solutions Engineer to join our Customer Engineering and Support Department. Customer Solutions Engineers are responsible for the ultimate success of our customers by gathering requirements, designing architectures, implementing solutions, and providing support. The role requires a background in network engineering and systems design, the ability to communicate effectively, and enjoy interactions across customers and Big Network Teams. A natural knack for debugging and solving gnarly networking problems is a must!

In addition to the above, Solutions Engineers are worldwide advocates for our technology, by writing use cases, posting to our blog, and creating other content pieces for Big Network.

What You’ll Do

  • Gather requirements, design architectures, and implement solutions in documented and repeatable manners for Big Network customers.
  • Assist with customer on-boarding, tours, and training of the Big Network Platform.
  • Help debug and solve gnarly networking problems encountered by our customers.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation to keep Big Network customers happy.
  • Produce content such as use cases, blogs, and presentations for use throughout Big Network.
  • Amplify the voice of Big Network customers in our Product Roadmap and Software Development Initatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of direct experience in network engineering and/or network architecture, plus 2+ years in pre-sales SaaS or PaaS engagements with enterprise organizations.
  • Prior experience in providing technical support to end customers.
  • Hands on experience working networks, VPNs, SD-WAN, and network services.
  • Previous experience as a developer using a scripting language such as Python or Go is a huge bonus!
  • An ability to think strategically in the moment while being persuasive and credible
  • Strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills as a listener, speaker, and writer.
  • B.A. or B.S. in an engineering, computer-related field of study, mathematics, business, or other equivalent degree and/or comparable on-the-job training
  • This position may require travel.
